Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna is shooting in Bangkok for Neeraj Vora's "Shortcut" and says he is missing home and desperately looking for a break. "I need a quick break to visit Mumbai. I'm homesick. If I get a break of two-three days, I'll go back. So far we get only one day off every 10 days. That isn't enough to dash in and dash out," Akshay told IANS on phone.

An eye opening tale, the story is set on the backdrop of pre-University college. There is Rakesh (Rakesh) and his group of friends (Alok, Akshay, Robo Ganesh). Rakesh is a bright boy but then his life takes a turn when he falls in love with childhood friend Meena (Poorna). He begins to divert from studies and focuses all his energies in romancing Meena. Though Meena also likes Rakesh, her parents get to know of this and their matured conversation with her makes her realize the importance of education. Soon, Meena begins to distance herself from Rakesh and he gets frustrated. In this process, he decides to prove a point and starts chasing another girl Meera (Nithya). Rakesh spends four years chasing Meera only to realize that she does not love him and Meera also tells him that she would not like a guy who is not focused on his education and future. All his friends become good achievers but Rakesh is left behind. He then decides to change himself and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.
